Terms of Service

The information on this website is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The authors make no warranties or representations of any kind concerning any information contained in this website. This website is provided only as general information. The authors expressly disclaim all liabilities with respect to actions taken or not taken based upon the information contained herein or with respect to any errors or omissions in such information.

Privacy Policy

This website does not use cookies or any other tracking techniques and does not collect any information about its users. However, this website collects server logs for debugging purposes only and for a short period of time without any notice. The debug logs may contain IP addresses. Such debug logs will be deleted after the end of the relevant debug session.

Furthermore, servers which support this website are accessible via the SSH protocol, which collects and logs any attempted login, both successful and unsuccessful, for a period up to two months. This information includes the IP address, login name, and fingerprint of the offered public key.

Additionally, servers are also accessible via the SMTP, Submission, IMAP, and Sieve protocols, which collect and log any attempted login, both successful and unsuccessful, for a period up to two weeks. This information includes the IP address and login name.

Our mail server, also, enriches mail headers with the IP address and associated reverse DNS (RDNS) domain name used to connect to it. Please be aware that a message is stored on our servers indefently with this IP address and RDNS domain. If you would like this IP address and RDNS domain to be removed from our system, please contact the recipient of this email and ask them to remove the messages with your IP address. We respect the secrecy of correspondence (Briefgeheimnis) of our users and will not read their emails to find and remove your IP address and RDNS domain.

Besides that, we check the IP address and associated reverse DNS (RDNS) domain name of each incoming SMTP connection against blacklist and whitelist providers. We connect directly to their DNS servers to obtain responses, but we do not control or imply any private policies of such providers. The list of used DNS providers may be updated without prior notice.

Currently used DNS black and white lists:

Finally, our mail servers ignore DMARC as if it doesn't exist. The reason for this is that forensic reports could be used to return personal information of senders, which can't be justified under data protection law according to the principle of proportionality. If you are interested in further details regarding DMARC and GDPR, here is a good analysis by the Certified Senders Alliance.
